All U should Know....

1 . ATTITUDE IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT.......

SOLDIER : SIR WE ARE SURROUNDED FROM ALL SIDES BY ENEMIES ,

MAJOR: EXCELLENT ! WE CAN ATTACK IN ANY DIRECTION.

2. EVERY ONE KNOWS ABOUT ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL WHO INVENTED

THE TELEPHONE,

BUT HE NEVER MADE A CALL TO HIS FAMILY. BECAUSE, HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE DEAF.

THAT'S LIFE " LIVE FOR OTHERS " .

3. THE WORST IN LIFE IS "ATTACHMENT "

IT HURTS WHEN YOU LOSE IT.

THE BEST THING IN LIFE IS " LONELINESS "

BECAUSE IT TEACHES YOU EVERYTHING AND, IF YOU LOSE IT, YOU GET EVERYTHING.

4. LIFE IS NOT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO ACT TRUE TO YOUR FACE
.....IT'S ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO REMAIN TRUE BEHIND YOUR BACK .

5. IF AN EGG IS BROKEN BY AN OUTSIDE FORCE....... . A LIFE ENDS.

IF AN EGG BREAKS FROM WITHIN...... . LIFE BEGINS.

GREAT THINGS ALWAYS BEGIN FROM WITHIN .

6 . IT'S BETTER TO LOSE YOUR EGO TO THE ONE YOU LOVE.

THAN TO LOSE THE ONE YOU LOVE ....... BECAUSE OF EGO .

7. A RELATIONSHIP DOESN'T SHINE BY JUST SHAKING HANDS AT THE BEST OF TIMES.

BUT IT BLOSSOMS BY HOLDING FIRMLY IN CRITICAL SITUATIONS .

8.
HEATED GOLD BECOMES ORNAMENTS.
BATTED COPPER BECOMES WIRES.
DEPLETED STONE BECOMES STATUE.

SO, THE MORE PAIN YOU GET IN YOUR LIFE THE MORE VALUABLE YOU BECOME.

9.
WHY WE HAVE SO MANY TEMPLES, IF GOD IS EVERYWHERE ?
A WISE MAN SAID : AIR IS EVERYWHERE , BUT WE STILL NEED A FAN , … TO FEEL IT .

10. WHEN YOU TRUST SOMEONE TRUST HIM COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY DOUBT....... .......
AT THE END YOU WOULD GET ONE OF THE TWO :
EITHER A GREAT LESSON FOR YOUR LIFE OR A VERY GOOD PERSON

Debit or credit card? Which is right for you?

Whenever you make a timely payment of the outstanding amount, your credit rating, and consequently your credit score goes up. Similarly any delay or default in the payment, will downgrade your credit score. Your credit score is important as most lenders check out your credit score before approving your loan application. A high score will ensure your loan application will be processed smoothly. Hence it is very essential for you to maintain a high credit score.

Today we live in a plastic age, due to convenience offered by plastic money. Credit and debit cards have gained popularity as they offer us the convenience of eliminating the need to carry cash. However both these cards have their own features, advantages and disadvantages.

Pros and cons of debit card: A debit card is a card that lets you access money in your own account. Instead of paying cash, you simply hand over your card for payment. The payment amount is directly debited from your bank account.

Pros:

  • No need to worry about late fees or interest charges as you are using your own money.
  • Impossible to get into debt, as the highest amount you can spend is limited by your account balance.
  • Cash withdrawal through debit card is not charged.

Cons:

  • No rewards, cash back or points earned on purchases.
  • No redressal available for fraudulent debit card transactions.
  • Inability to build credit score, making it difficult to get a loan in future.
  • Inability to purchase items whose value exceeds your account balance.
  • Most banks charge you debit card fees.

Credit card: A credit card is a card that lets you purchase goods on credit. You need not have money in your bank account in order to spend. Your bank gives you a line of credit. When you pay using a credit card, the merchant checks your available line of credit and approves your purchase if the balance available is more than the purchase amount.

Pros:

  • Helps you build credit score.
  • Rewards you with points, rewards, cash backs etc.
  • Allows you to seek redressal for any fraudulent purchases.
  • Most credit cards (entry level) are free.
  • Allows you a grace period to make the payment.

Cons:

  • Easy to fall into debt as you can easily go overboard with spending.
  • Heavy interest rates and fees charged if you fail to pay the bill or pay late or partially.
  • Late payments will ultimately affect your credit rating.
  • Cash withdrawal attracts high interest.

Use credit card to establish your credit rating: Whenever you make a timely payment of the outstanding amount, your credit rating, and consequently your credit score goes up. Similarly any delay or default in the payment, will downgrade your credit score. Your credit score is important as most lenders check out your credit score before approving your loan application. A high score will ensure your loan application will be processed smoothly. Hence it is very essential for you to maintain a high credit score.

Credit card or debit card for high value purchase?

If you are looking to buy a high value item like LCD TV, both the cards can be used. With a credit card, you can enjoy reward for the purchase, a grace period for paying the bill, as well as the facility to convert the amount into EMI. On the other hand, with a debit card, you don’t have to worry about late payment, interest charges and risks of default. But you must have the required balance in your account, failing which the transaction would be declined.

Should you have both?

While today most banks provide debit cards when you open a bank account, credit cards need to be taken separately. You can certainly have both, but remember to use a credit card sensibly. If you can control your spending and have the capacity to pay the outstanding amount in full on time, then credit cards can be a useful tool to help you in case of emergencies and build good credit record.

IT'S CALLED MINDSET

As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped,

Confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only

a rope tied to their legs. It was obvious that the elephants could, at

Anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some

Reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why

These beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no

Attempt to get away.

“Well”, he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use

the same site rope to tie them and at that age, it’s enough to hold

them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot

break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never

try to break free." My friend was amazed. These animals could at any

time break free from their bonds but because they believed they

couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were. The powerful and

gigantic creature has limited its present abilities by the limitation of

lts past.

like the elephant how many of us go through life holding onto a

belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it

once before? How many of us refuse to attempt something new and

challenging because of our so called MINDSET?

Your attempt may fail, but never fail to make an attempt....

&

CHOOSE not to accept the false boundaries and limitations created by the past…

The song is a very special song in the category of Birthday Occasion. It is from the film Farz which came in 1967 and this song is in the voice of Mohd. Rafi.

Why do we get hiccups?

When you hiccup, your diaphragm involuntarily contracts. (The diaphragm is a dome-shaped muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdomen. It plays an extremely important role in breathing.)

This contraction of the diaphragm then causes an immediate and brief closure of the vocal cords, which produces the characteristic sound of a hiccup. What actually causes the hiccup is difficult to say - in most instances, there is no obvious cause.

Attacks of the hiccups seem to be associated with a few different things: eating or drinking too fast; being nervous or excited; or having irritation in the stomach and/or throat.

In some extremely rare cases, the underlying cause of hiccups can be pleurisy (inflammation of the membrane lining of the lungs and chest cavity), pneumonia, certain disorders of the stomach or esophagus, pancreatitis, alcoholism, or hepatitis. Any one of these conditions can cause irritation of the diaphragm or of the phrenic nerves that supply the diaphragm - it's the irritation that causes the hiccups.

Still, the cause of most attacks of the hiccups remains a mystery.

Men say 'I love you' much quicker than women

Men are quicker to say 'I love you' to their partners than women, says a new study.

According to the dating survey, which was conducted for Stella magazine, men take an average of seven months to tell a new partner that they love them, however, when it comes to women, they take almost eight months, reports The Telegraph.

The study also found that when it comes to dating, the over 55s are the most active - and experimental - of all age groups.

To reach the conclusion, Stella commissioned YouGov to interview almost 2,000 men and women of all ages and backgrounds who have been on a date in the past year.

Jenni Trent Hughes, a relationship counsellor, said: "Although women do tend to wear their heart on their sleeves more than men do, men are just as emotional and sensitive - sometimes even more so."

Oliver James, the clinical psychologist and author, said the findings supported other studies that showed that men fall in love more frequently than women.

"This is because women mature sooner than men and develop to be more hard-nosed, realistic and in touch with their emotions," he added.

He added: "So when a man says 'I love you' it might be his way of dealing with a lot of complex, difficult emotions that he doesn't really understand, whereas when a woman says it, it might carry a greater weight. The classic clich is that men use love to get sex and women use sex to get love." (ANI)

to all my Friends

Another day is passing
And still there is no word
On how your life is going
And who is in your world

I pray you will consider
These words I write to you
I liked you in my life
Yet maybe now it's through

I don't want to see
our relationship come to an end
And I don't want to find
our lives standing still

We are moving towards the end
And we really ought to wait
Because God planted something special
Deep within our hearts

I know your life is hectic
You are busy all day through
My life is busy also
But I still think of you

I want to send my love
And remind you of these things
Just so you will know
You mean so much to me

Apple's Steve Jobs named CEO of the decade.

San Francisco, Nov 6 (DPA) He single-handedly saved Apple, wrought a revolution in online music, created a world-beating smartphone and led Pixar to dominate computer animation.

So it's no surprise that Apple chief executive Steve Jobs was named CEO of the decade Thursday by Fortune magazine, which said that Jobs' success in reordering four industries - computers, music, movies and mobile telephones - was 'unheard of.'

'It's often noted that he's a showman, a born salesman, a magician who creates a famed reality-distortion field, a tyrannical perfectionist,' the report said. 'It's totally accurate, of course, and the descriptions contribute to his legend.'

Comparing Jobs favourably to Henry Ford, PanAm's Juan Trippe and Conrad Hilton, the report said: 'In the past decade, Jobs and Apple have entered and changed the industries of music, movies and cell phones. The company has also remained in the computer business, where it continues to innovate as it has done for decades. Remaking any one business is a career-defining achievement; four is unheard of.'

The report surveyed Jobs' achievements since he returned to Apple in 1997, 12 years after being ousted from the company he founded.

It took him several years to get the company back in shape. Even as he introduced his long-term digital lifestyle strategy and the revolutionary iTunes software and music player in 2000, the company was facing bankruptcy.

It now has 34,000 employees and is valued at over $170 billion. During this period he also nurtured computer animation shop Pixar, which he sold to Disney in 2006 for $7.5 billion, making him the largest shareholder in the entertainment conglomerate.

Late sitting in offices

Mail sent by Narayan Murthy to all Infosys staff:

It's half past 8 in the office but the lights are still on...
PCs still running, coffee machines still buzzing...
And who's at work? Most of them ??? Take a closer look...

All or most specimens are ??
Something male species of the human race...

Look closer... again all or most of them are bachelors...

And why are they sitting late? Working hard? No way!!!
Any guesses???
Let's ask one of them...
Here's what he says... 'What's there 2 do after going home...Here we get to surf, AC, phone, food, coffee that is why I am working late...Importantly no bossssssss!!!!!!!!!!!'

This is the scene in most research centers and software companies and other off-shore offices.

Bachelors 'Passing-Time' during late hours in the office just bcoz they say they've nothing else to do...
Now what r the consequences...

'Working' (for the record only) late hours soon becomes part of the institute or company culture.

With bosses more than eager to provide support to those 'working' late in the form of taxi vouchers, food vouchers and of course good feedback, (oh, he's a hard worker... goes home only to change..!!).
They aren't helping things too...

To hell with bosses who don't understand the difference between 'sitting' late and 'working' late!!!

Very soon, the boss start expecting all employees to put in extra working hours.

So, My dear Bachelors let me tell you, life changes when u get married and start having a family... office is no longer a priority, family is... and
That's when the problem starts... b'coz u start having commitments at home too.

For your boss, the earlier 'hardworking' guy suddenly seems to become a 'early leaver' even if u leave an hour after regular time... after doing the same amount of work.

People leaving on time after doing their tasks for the day are labelled as work-shirkers...

Girls who thankfully always (its changing nowadays... though) leave on time are labelled as 'not up to it'. All the while, the bachelors pat their own backs and carry on 'working' not realizing that they r spoiling the work culture at their own place and never realize that they would have to regret at one point of time.

So what's the moral of the story??

* Very clear, LEAVE ON TIME!!!
* Never put in extra time ' unless really needed '
* Don't stay back unnecessarily and spoil your company work culture which will in turn cause inconvenience to you and your colleagues.

There are hundred other things to do in the evening..

Learn music...

Learn a foreign language...

Try a sport... TT, cricket.........

Importantly, get a girl friend or boy friend, take him/her around town...

* And for heaven's sake, net cafe rates have dropped to an all-time low (plus, no fire-walls) and try cooking for a change.

Take a tip from the Smirnoff ad: *'Life's calling, where are you??'*

Please pass on this message to all those colleagues and please do it before leaving time, don't stay back till midnight to forward this!!!

IT'S A TYPICAL INDIAN MENTALITY THAT WORKING FOR LONG HOURS MEANS VERY HARD WORKING & 100% COMMITMENT ETC.

PEOPLE WHO REGULARLY SIT LATE IN THE OFFICE DON'T KNOW TO MANAGE THEIR TIME. SIMPLE !

Regards,
NARAYAN MURTHY.

History of Christan(Kupari) Community

The Kupari community came into existence during the Portuguese rule of Vasai in 15th century when most of the Samvedic Brahmans embraced Christianity as their possessions were confiscated and they were ostracized by orthodox Brahmans. Till the late 1960s and early 1970s the population was highly dependent on farming. The Kupari community is mostly concentrated around these parishesin northern Vasai:[6]

Kuparis today
Kuparis have been well educated for generations. They are hardworking, which aids their ventures in a variety of sectors. In recent years Kuparis have shown transition towards various sectors, including engineering, medicine, and corporate enterprises. A considerable amount of the Kupari population has relocated to the North America , Europe, Middle East and Australia.
Ethnicity
Most of the kuparis have their ancestry through samvedic brahmin community while some trace few relations in neighbouring vadvalite community as well as goan community due to inter communal marriages. Minor traces of portuguese ancestry in this community cannot be denied due to portuguese intercommunal marriages during portuguese rule as in case of St. Gonsalo Garcia .
History
On 23 December 1534, the Sultan of Gujarat, signed a treaty with the Portuguese and ceded Bassein with its dependencies of Salsette, Mombaim (Bombay), Parel, Vadala, Siao (Sion), Vorli (Worli), Mazagao (Mazgao), Thana, Bandra, Mahim, Caranja. In 1548, St. Francisco Xavier stopped in Bassein to preach. This marked the advent of christianity into Bassein. Conversion was carried out by preaching or by throwing bread into the wells. If the brahmins drank the waters from those wells they were ostracized by orthodox brahmin community and declared as heretics. These brahmins would then move out of the village premises. They were then helped by christian missionaries given new names, new dress code and brought into roman catholic faith. During this period most of them lost their assets as a result of shunning. These outcast individuals then turned to the church under which they were united. During this period Portuguese built 3 churches in present day northern bassein for these converts: Nirmal (1557), Agashi (1568), Nandakhal (1573) All these beautiful churches are still used by the Christian community of Vasai..
